If everything is finite, then what exists before and after the finite? How did the finite come into existence in the first place, and why can’t it happen again?

 Everything cannot be finite.

If we take finite in the temporal sense then whatever began to exist couldn’t have come from nothing.

If we take finite in the spacial sense then there has to be a background in which it exists. It can’t be total nothingness because total nothingness is an impossibility. So it has to be something.

The very concept of finiteness requires something beyond, either temporally, spatially, or ontologically.

Srimad Bhagavatam explains that there is an infinite spiritual realm not influenced by time. Within that realm are isolated finite universes which are manifest and dissolved. They are like self contained bubbles which are created, stay for some time and are then destroyed.

Bhagavatam describes that the universes become manifest from the pores of the body of Maha Vishnu, then they exist in the Lord’s effulgence like foam exist in the ocean. On their destruction they are reabsorbed back into the body of Maha Vishnu.

If you think the universe is big, imagine the size of Maha Vishnu.
