What does Krishna say about himself in the Bhagavad Gita?

He says that He is God.

He claims that there is nothing superior to Him. He claims that He is the source of all spiritual and material worlds, He claims that everything emanates from Him. He claims that He is the seed-giving father of all who take birth in the material world and that material nature is working under His direction. He claims that He is time.

He claims that no being - moving or non moving - can exist without Him. He claims that He pervades the entire universe in His unmanifest form. He claims that He is the basis of the brahman, He claims that He has always existed and always will. He claims His body is transcendental and never deteriorates. He claims that fools cannot understand His transcendental nature as the Supreme Lord of all that be.

Krishna claims to know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. He also knows all living entities; but Him no one knows. Everything is within Him and He is within everything, but still He exists independently from the creation, because He is the source of the creation. He says He can only be seen directly by undivided devotional service.

He says He is the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable om in the Vedic mantras; the sound in ether and ability in man. He says He is the original fragrance of the earth, and the heat in fire. He is the life of all that lives, and the penances of all ascetics. He is the original seed of all existences, the intelligence of the intelligent, and the prowess of all powerful men. He is the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire, and sex life which is not contrary to religious principles.

Bg 10.21 - Of the Adityas I am Visnu, of lights I am the radiant sun, of the Maruts I am Marici, and among the stars I am the moon.

Bg 10.22 - Of the Vedas I am the SAma Veda; of the demigods I am Indra, the king of heaven; of the senses I am the mind; and in living beings I am the living force [consciousness].

Bg 10.23 - Of all the Rudras I am Lord Siva, of the Yaksas and Raksasas I am the Lord of wealth [Kuvera], of the Vasus I am fire [Agni], and of mountains I am Meru.

Bg 10.24 - Of priests, O Arjuna, know Me to be the chief, Brhaspati. Of generals I am Kartikeya, and of bodies of water I am the ocean.

Bg 10.25 - Of the great sages I am Bhrgu; of vibrations I am the transcendental om. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himalayas.

Bg 10.26 - Of all trees I am the banyan tree, and of the sages among the demigods I am Narada. Of the Gandharvas I am Citraratha, and among perfected beings I am the sage Kapila.

Bg 10.27 - Of horses know Me to be Uccaisrava, produced during the churning of the ocean for nectar. Of lordly elephants I am Airavata, and among men I am the monarch.

Bg 10.28 - Of weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows I am the surabhi. Of causes for procreation I am Kandarpa, the god of love, and of serpents I am Vasuki.

Bg 10.29 - Of the many-hooded Nagas I am Ananta, and among the aquatics I am the demigod Varuna. Of departed ancestors I am Aryama, and among the dispensers of law I am Yama, the lord of death.

Bg 10.30 - Among the Daitya demons I am the devoted PrahlAada, among subduers I am time, among beasts I am the lion, and among birds I am Garusa.

Bg 10.31 - Of purifiers I am the wind, of the wielders of weapons I am Rama, of fishes I am the shark, and of flowing rivers I am the Ganges.

Bg 10.32 - Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, O Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the self, and among logicians I am the conclusive truth.

Bg 10.33 - Of letters I am the letter A, and among compound words I am the dual compound. I am also inexhaustible time, and of creators I am Brahma.

Bg 10.34 - I am all-devouring death, and I am the generating principle of all that is yet to be. Among women I am fame, fortune, fine speech, memory, intelligence, steadfastness and patience.

Bg 10.35 - Of the hymns in the Sama Veda I am the Brhat-sama, and of poetry I am the Gayatri. Of months I am Margasirsa [November-December], and of seasons I am flower-bearing spring.

Bg 10.36 - I am also the gambling of cheats, and of the splendid I am the splendor. I am victory, I am adventure, and I am the strength of the strong.

Bg 10.37 - Of the descendants of Vrsni I am Vasudeva, and of the Pandavas I am Arjuna. Of the sages I am Vyasa, and among great thinkers I am Usana.

Bg 10.38 - Among all means of suppressing lawlessness I am punishment, and of those who seek victory I am morality. Of secret things I am silence, and of the wise I am the wisdom.

Bg 10.39 - Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being-moving or non-moving-that can exist without Me.

Bg 10.40 - O mighty conqueror of enemies, there is no end to My divine manifestations. What I have spoken to you is but a mere indication of My infinite opulences.

Bg 10.41 - Know that all opulent, beautiful and glorious creations spring from but a spark of My splendor.

Action in Inaction and Inaction in Action as per Bhagavad Gita

Under the laws of karma, every action carries a reaction. Only by having zero personal attachments and desires can one avoid reactions Theoretically, if we don’t perform any action there won’t be any reaction which is what we want right? But it’s not possible to live in this world and not perform any activity. People may sit silently in meditation trying to control and empty the mind, but this is still activity. They must eat something, breath, move around a little, so even though they may appear to be inactive, there are still reactions being chalked up, so they are not ‘inactive’ because reactions are accumulating. So actually they are performing actions even though aiming for inaction. This is the meaning of seeing action in inaction. Another person may be active, but their consciousness is completely devoid of any personal desires or interest in their activity so there will be no reaction. It’s as if they were inactive.

What is Dharma according to Bhagavad Gita?

What is the Meaning of Life? As per Bhagavad Gita

The meaning of life is to enjoy unbounded, eternal happiness. We are spiritual by nature, and spirit is eternal. We belong in the spiritual world where everything is spiritual. In the spiritual world we have an eternal loving relationship with Krishna without any of the problems of this material world. There is no birth, death, disease and old age. There is no time that causes the decay and destruction of everything. There is no lust, anger or greed; no envy, jealously or hatred. That is where we belong, and that is from where we came. Why we left is another question, but we are here now as the result of a bad choice and are stuck here with many undesirable qualities that we would like to be free from, and many desires that we would like to indulge.
